Client Centered Immigration

Process

Immigration cases follow different paths, but all begin with these steps.

Consultation

A consultation is a one-hour meeting over the phone or at our Seattle office during which we:

  • Review any immigration or criminal documents you have

  • Discuss your immigration history

  • Discuss your goals, concerns, and questions

  • Get to know one another

At the end of a consultation we may be able to provide you with recommendations, or sometimes additional research is necessary. If additional research is necessary we will schedule a follow up phone call or meeting to discuss recommendations at that time. When the consultation process is finished, we will discuss options for you and your family, and you will have as much time as you need to decide how you want to proceed.

Scheduling a Consultation

All consultations must be scheduled following a phone call or email. You can reach us at 206.395.3677 or at info@ecimmigrationlaw.com. The cost of a consultation is $350. Additional fees may apply for extensive document review, or if more than one family member is attending the consultation appointment.

How to Prepare for a Consultation

Please either send us in advance or bring with you to your consultation any of the following documents that you have:

  • Passports, with proof of entry if applicable

  • Any immigration documents from Customs and Border Protection (CBP)

  • Any immigration documents from the Executive Office of Immigration Review (Immigration Court)

  • Any formally issued biographic documents (work permit, social security card, driver’s license, etc.)

  • Complete copy of any immigration document filed by you or on your behalf (if you have them)

Service Agreement

If there is a service we can offer you and that you would like to pursue, we will review a written agreement together and discuss the terms of the agreement. Our office usually provides work on a flat fee basis. Our office may be able to offer you a payment plan.

Working Together

At the beginning of our work together we will discuss goals, timelines, documents to collect, and how our work together will get accomplished. For example, we work with some Clients primarily over the phone and email, while other cases require frequent in-person contact until the application is filed. We will establish whether our work together requires any medical, mental health, or country condition expert and will prepare a plan for moving forward. We will discuss ways that we can support you in making your case as strong as possible.
